Proud To Wait! An Abstinence Project for Youth.

 

Our mission is to offer character based abstinence education to youth ages 12-18.

- We desire to empower these youth with the tools they need to be successful in life and to become leaders in our communities.
- We are not a religious or faith based organization. We are an agency committed to serving youth and empowering them to live successful lives.
- We offer the facts about STDs/STIs and we expose the myths about teen pregnancy while sharing the realities of it as well.
- We equip youth with valuable character lessons that help empower them to make good decisions in life.

 9.1 Billion dollars of tax payer money is spent every year on teen childbearing.  1 in 3 sexually active girls become pregnant. 1 in 4 sexually active teens will acquire a sexually transmitted disease.   Because our youth are highly effected by numerous environmental risks, we want to equip our youth with information as well as education which promotes Abstinence-Until-Marriage in our communities. Our goal each year is to empower and equip over 3000 youth ages 12-18 across our three sites, located in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties.

How Can You Participate? 

                                         

Each site has a Youth Leadership component that works with youth ages 12-18 on a monthly basis. PROUD TO WAIT YOUTH LEADERSHIP provides mentoring and peer support for teens who have pledged to remain abstinent until marriage.  Our Youth Leadership groups meet consistently throughout the month in a fun environment and are involved in multiple activities such as community service projects, media projects, presentations, and more.
