PARENTS

We welcome any parents and/or guardians interested in participating in the Proud To Wait! program!

The California Hispanic Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Inc. currently delivers services to youth and their families through 50+ local, state, and national contracts. We offer some of the most successful programs for Latino and other urban youth populations in the country. Proud To Wait!, our most recent addition, offers abstinence education to youth ages 12-18 and empowers them to become leaders in our communities.

9.1 Billion dollars of tax payer money is spent every year on teen childbearing.

1 in 3 sexually active girls become pregnant. 1 in 4 sexually active teens will acquire a sexually transmitted disease.  Because our youth are highly effected by numerous environmental risks, we want to equip our youth with information as well as education which promotes Abstinence-Until-Marriage in our communities.  Our goal each year is to empower and equip over 3000 youth ages 12-18 across our three sites, located in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Orange Counties.

We hope to bridge the generational gap between youth and parent/guardian by offering the 12-Lesson Curriculum to parents as well as offering a one hour parent session on how to speak to your children about sexual issues.

This curriculum will help equip you with the necessary information to help you communicate with your teenager.  It will also help you be informed about what is going on in your community as it pertains to teens and sexuality.

If you would like get involved, please contact us by filling out the form below. Thank you!
