Hey! What’s up everybody? This is Rashad and I’m excited to head out to the West Coast to rock with PTW for the 4th Annual PTW Youth Leadership Conference! I’ll be bringing an eye opening and impacting presentation that you don’t want to miss out on. Every semester here in Florida, I work with nearly 4,000 students from all over Marion County to inspire and motivate them to make good life choices, especially when it comes to abstinence until marriage. Leadership and abstinence are two essential ingredients that every young person must possess if they want to experience a successful life that is free of worry, pain and regret. Life has a lot to offer and most of the time it’s the people who are strong leaders that are able to enjoy the best of it. Besides that, we’re in a day and age where there aren’t a whole lot of great examples for young people to follow in the media, sometimes even at home, or in the community. So you got to just step into that mentality of a leader and blaze your own trail towards success while leaveing a great path for your own friends and family to follow. You feel me? I hope so. We here at PTW are so excited about our 4th Annual Statewide Youth Leadership Conference. We have already announced that our Key Note Speaker for this years Conference will be Rashad Jones from Ocala Florida. But that is not all. This years Conference will also involve some great up and coming Hip Hop talent from all over the State of California. Joining us this year will be Orange County’s own SILVA DOLLA, the Legendary MINISTA RMB, and Regeton Artist J-6!! If you have never heard of these artists before you are in for a treat. These Artists are also featured on our Brand new CD Project “THE E-KNOCK-ULATION”. All conference attendee’s will get free copies of the CD and of course the always popular PTW -T-shirts. April 30th marked the release of our very first Hip-hop & R&B CD called “THE E-KNOCK-ULATION!” It includes music from Artists such as Minister RMB, Sevin, J-6, Silva Dolla, Izreal, and Q-heem! These tracks are blazin’ and laced with a positive message that will help Inoculate you with Truth. It’s The E-nock-ulation! The word Inoculate means, to place a vaccine or serum into the body in an attempt to boost immunity to a specific disease. This CD is an attempt to “E-Knock-ulate” the listener with knowledge and truth so that you can withstand the lies that the media throws at us about pre-marital sex, drugs and alcohol. So many of us buy into the lies that pre-marital sex, drugs and underage drinking are necessities in order to have a good time. Don’t believe the hype. Those things only produce temporary good times or “highs”. The truth is when the high is over the crash is sometimes fatal and most times destructive to a productive life. Extra special thanks to the Artists who gave of their time and talent to make this project a reality. This CD will be put into the hands of every student that PTW has the privilege speaking to. On a side note don’t forget to peep the secret song at the end of the last song on the CD. After a long pause there is a special song you gotta peep out. Let us know what you think. On Another Note the date has been set for our upcoming 4th Annual Proud To Wait Leadership Conference! This year’s theme will be “THE E-KNOCK-ULATION”! The date is June 3rd. With over 10 years of experience Rashad Jones reaches thousands of youth every year with a creative, fun and life-changing message of abstinence until marriage. His community outreach expertise has also allowed him to travel to 15 different countries including Germany, Croatia, Austria, Brazil, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Mexico, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Holland, Estonia, Latvia, Finland and Russia. He has also traveled to many cities throughout the US all in efforts of impacting the lives of thousands of young people. My husband and I have been married for 3 years this month, and in October we are expecting our first child!!!! What an exciting time for us! We are looking forward to this new adventure with such joy and excitement. I don’t think raising a child is ever easy, however, we have been waiting and planning for this time and are looking forward to all that this new season will bring with it. I am trying to read about pregnancy and babies, plan for the new baby’s room, and finish projects in our home before the baby comes. I honestly can’t imagine doing all of this without the love and support of my wonderful husband.
I think children are a blessing, period. But I also think that waiting until we were financially stable and in a committed, stable marriage will help Ben and I tremendously when raising our child(ren). We all want the best for our children and I think that waiting to have sex until you’re married is the best way to ensure that you won’t have a child before you’re “ready.” We were able to be excited about this baby from the very moment we found out we were expecting – there was no worry or stress, no going through our options of keeping the baby, giving it up for adoption, or having an abortion, we were simply thrilled and overjoyed at the news.
Enjoy your teenage years. Enjoy your young adult years. And when you’re ready – enjoy your marriage to the fullest!!! And then, enjoy the season of expecting your first child without unnecessary worry – as I am currently doing! As always – I hope for the BEST in each of your lives!!!

Every journey starts with a step!
Each and every day is another chance to make a difference in your life and someone else’s life! I know in my life there have been a number of times when I’ve realized that it’s time to make changes in the way I live and more importantly in the way I treat others. What I have learned is that it’s important to recognize that sometimes our greatest glory is not that we never fail, but that we can start fresh each day, get up and try again!
I truly believe that life is a journey and the paths that we choose ultimately create our destiny. One of my favorite Oscar Wilde quotes is, “I am not young enough to know everything.” This quote sticks with me as I get older because I realize there is more and more about life that I just don’t understand! Part of growing up is continuing to mature and as I get older I continually come to the realization that every small opportunity is often the beginning of a great adventure!
So, as you start each adventure the real question is how do you achieve the most that you can and more importantly, how do you have the greatest positive impact on others? In my opinion, I think there are many things that are crucial to having successful life, and the most important aspects of life are having healthy relationships and living a life that is truly fulfilling! I will say this though, be careful, because one guaranteed way to failing in your life is trying to please everybody else. I think it seems like common sense but sometimes we can forget that the first step to getting what we want in life is to decide what it is, that you want! So take some time to decide what you want from life and take the first step on that journey today!
